Remote Collaboration: Re-recording and Mixing

Remote collaboration has become a natural part of professional music production. A project may involve musicians, composers, producers and studios in different cities or different countries, with individual performances and elements of a production moving between them as the work develops.

At Frog Productions, you can send us MIDI files and have them turned into live stereo piano recordings, captured with a choice of microphones and placements to suit the track. DI guitar or bass parts can be re-amped through real amplifiers and cabinets, allowing different combinations of instrument, amplifier and recording chain to be explored without having to recreate the original performance. Keyboard parts can be replaced or augmented using the Hammond, Leslie, Clavinet, Moog or other instruments in the studio, and additional instrumental parts can be recorded where a production calls for them.

The same principle applies to mixing. Send us a session recorded elsewhere and we can bring it into the Frog environment, combining the flexibility of digital production with the analogue equipment, API console and outboard processing available in the studio.

Remote working doesn't have to mean that everything remains inside the box. It can simply mean that the performance happens in one place and the search for its final sound continues somewhere else.
